Franz Torggler

Franz Torggler (* 1857 in Lana ; † 1942 ) was a lecturer in medicine at the University of Innsbruck and professor of gynecology at the midwifery school in Klagenfurt .

biography

After graduating from high school, Torggler studied medicine at the University of Innsbruck. In 1876 he became a member of the Corps Gothia Innsbruck . Following his doctorate in 1883, Torggler initially worked as a doctor and scientific assistant at the University of Innsbruck until he was finally appointed to the medical council and on October 16, 1893, was appointed professor in Klagenfurt and taught at the local midwifery school. Later he became Primarius of the building institution there.

In addition to his medical work, Torggler wrote a large number of scientific treatises on the subject of pregnancy.
