Franz Tutzauer

Franz Tutzauer (born March 10, 1852 in Berlin , † October 3, 1908 in Berlin) was a German trade unionist and social democratic politician. He was a member of the Reichstag and a city ​​councilor in Berlin .

Life

After elementary school he learned the carpentry trade . Between 1872 and 1877 he worked in this profession while traveling through Germany , Austria and Switzerland . Until 1885 he worked in the profession he had learned.

In 1871 he joined the General German Workers' Association . Between 1875 and 1905 he was a delegate to several social democratic party conferences. In the 1870s he was at times a leading party and trade union functionary in Düsseldorf . Between 1876 and 1878 he was second chairman of the main board of the Bund der Tischler. In 1880 he was a co-founder of the carpenter's association in Berlin. Until 1888 he was chairman of the organization. He was a member of the Berlin city council from 1884 to June 9, 1892. His main job was from 1885 to 1888 as editor of the “Berliner Volksblatt”. After that he was the owner of a furniture shop in Berlin until 1901. Subsequently, until his death he was a paid board member (cashier), initially of the consumer association Berlin-Nord and the consumer association Berlin and the surrounding area.

Between 1884 and 1892 he was a city councilor in Berlin. In addition to Paul Singer , he was the first social democratic city councilor in Berlin. As citizens' deputy, he had been a member of the trade deputation of the Berlin magistrate since 1898. He was a member of the board of trustees of the “Foundation of the Berlin Trade Exhibition in 1879”. Since 1884 he has run for the Reichstag several times, initially in vain . Between 1893 and 1907 he was a member of the Reichstag. He represented the constituency of Breslau 6 (eastern part of the city of Breslau). After leaving, he ran again in vain for the Reichstag.
