Franz Wandinger
Franz Wandinger (born July 24, 1897 in Dorfen , † April 1, 1961 ) was a German goldsmith.
Life
Wandinger comes from an old family of goldsmiths. Together with his twin brother Hermann (1897–1976), he started an apprenticeship with a Munich goldsmith in 1910. In addition, both attended technical schools and evening courses with Johann Vierthaler and Julius Schneider , the director of the Munich goldsmith school. After participating in the First World War, he joined his parents' business in 1918.
Together with his brother, he took part in the German Trade Show in 1922 and both later set up a joint studio in Schwabing , which existed until it was destroyed in the war in 1945. After marrying Viktoria Hörmann in 1929, he took over his parents' business in Dorfen.
