Franz Weber (born October 3, 1956 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian skier and multiple world record holder in speed skiing .

Life

Growing up in Tyrol, Franz Weber was a European skateboard champion in 1977 before focusing on high-speed skiing. From 1980 to 1985 he dominated this discipline and was world champion six times in a row and held the world record; In 1985 he resigned and then made a comeback at the 1992 Olympic Games in Albertville , where he set his personal best of 222.222 km / h. Weber now lives with his family on a ranch near Reno and is successful as an entrepreneur in the marketing of outstanding athletes and as an event organizer.
