Franz Weilhammer (born November 30, 1891 in Munich , Bavaria , † after 1956 ) was a German actor , radio and voice actor .

Life

Franz Weilhammer completed an acting training at the State Theater Academy in Munich from 1912 to 1914, where he also made his stage debut. Theater stations in Rudolstadt, Würzburg, Halle, Munich, Berlin and Stuttgart followed. He mostly played character roles such as "Miller" in Schiller's Cabal and Love and "Just" in Gotthold Ephraim Lessing's Minna von Barnhelm .

In 1935, Weilhammer made his feature film debut in the Ganghofer film adaptation of Die Klosterjäger . Until 1939 he played in Paul Wegener's historical production August der Starke (with Michael Bohnen in the title role), Robert A. Stemmle's drama Am Seidenen Faden (with Willy Fritsch ) and Rolf Hansen's comedy Sommer, Sonne, Erika .

After the Second World War he found work in both the GDR and the Federal Republic. Under the direction of Martin Hellberg, he worked in the DEFA productions Der Ochse von Kulm and Thomas Müntzer , in the West he played in the Pennäler comedy Stips (with Gustav Fröhlich ) and Harald Reinl's love film Johannisnacht .

In addition, Weilhammer was active as a broadcaster for various Berlin broadcasters since 1928. He also worked as a voice actor from 1931 .

Weilhammer was married to the actress Anny Frank .

Weilhammer was last mentioned in Kürschner's biographical theater manual in 1956. His subsequent life is no longer documented.
