Franz Wengenmayer

Franz-Xaver Wengenmayer (born March 14, 1926 ) is a former German football referee .

Life

Wengenmayer joined the referee department of FC Bayern Munich in May 1948 . Between 1965 and 1973, the man from Munich headed 58 Bundesliga soccer games .

He also directed matches of European club competitions and international matches. On May 26, 1972, he whistled the friendly game between the German national team and the Soviet Union, with which the Munich Olympic Stadium was inaugurated.

After the end of his active time, he remained connected to the referee system. From 1974 to 2006 he was a member of the referees committee of the Munich referees group.
