Franz Wieser (politician, 1956)

Franz Wieser (born February 13, 1956 ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. From 2009 to 2018 he was a member of the Carinthian state parliament .

Life

Wieser is a farmer and lives in Mittertrixen . From April 2008 he was ÖVP district party chairman of Völkermarkt and is a local councilor in Völkermarkt. On March 28, 2013, he was sworn in as a member of the state parliament for the 31st legislative period , having previously been a member of the state parliament since 2009 . He was chairman of the committee for economy, trade, tourism, agriculture and forestry, art and culture and a member of the committee for infrastructure, road construction and traffic law.

In 2016, Hannes Mak succeeded him as district party leader of the ÖVP in the Völkermarkt district . After the state elections in 2018 , Wieser left the state parliament.
