Franz Wilfan (born October 14, 1985 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian ice hockey player on the position of striker . He is under contract with EK Zell am See .

Career

Wilfan began his career at EC KAC , with which he stayed until 2000. He then moved to the Valley Jr. Warriors in the United States , where he played in the North American junior league Eastern Junior Hockey League . After his first engagement in the USA, Wilfan switched back to the EC KAC, where he made his professional debut in the EBEL in 2001 . Most of the time, however, he was used by the U-20 team of the EC KAC, where he contributed 125 points in 48 games. In 2003 he moved back to the Valley Jr. Warriors. There he was able to score 24 points in 21 games. In the same year he came back to the EC KAC and completed his first professional season with 43 appearances in the EBEL. Until 2008 he had a total of 126 missions for the EC KAC.

He then moved to the EBEL Club EC Graz 99ers , where he played seven games and during that time he was loaned to EV Zeltweg and then to Kapfenberger SV . Then he moved to ATSE Graz . There he played in the National League , the second Austrian league, in which he played 86 games. In 2012 he moved to EK Zell am See , which also played in the second Austrian league. In his first season he was promoted directly to assistant captain , in 2013 he was promoted to team captain .

International

Wilfan went through the U18 and U20 of the ÖEHV . With the U18 national team, he was able to achieve third place at the U18 Junior World Championship in Division I in 2002 . For the U20, he was able to take first place in the U20 Junior World Championship 2003 in Division I and third place in the U20 Junior World Championship in Division I in 2005 . He was also used for the senior national team of the ÖEHV and played two games in which he was able to book an assist.
