Franz Xaver von Leuk

Franz Xaver von Leuk (born November 24, 1816 in Landshut , † June 11, 1883 in Munich ) was a German medical officer in Bavaria.

Life

Leuk studied medicine at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1838 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. He joined the Bavarian Army and became a battalion doctor (1848) and regimental doctor (1857). In the Bavarian War Ministry since 1863 , he was promoted to general doctor in 1872. From 1875 until his death he was a general staff doctor and head of the medical department in the war ministry. Leuk made a contribution to the construction and equipping of the field hospitals and the hygienic test stations in the hospitals .
