Franz Zingler

Franz Zingler (born September 14, 1922 in Voitsberg ; † May 25, 1984 in Cividale del Friuli ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and electrician. From 1958 to 1979 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

After completing compulsory school, Zingler attended vocational school and learned to be an electrician for power plant construction. He also graduated from an economics school. From 1942 he worked as an electrician and industrial electrician at the Voitsberg steam power station and then from 1942 to 1945 he was employed as a fitter for power and transformer stations at Siemens Schuckert in Graz. From 1945 he was employed at STEWEAG in Graz, where he rose to the position of chairman of the central works council. In addition, he was active as a regional functionary of the SPÖ Styria as well as in the union of metalworkers and miners, and between 1965 and 1975 he was Vice Mayor of Voitsberg. He was also Vice President of the Styrian Civil Protection Association and Chairman of the Fund Commission of the Austrian Water Management Fund in the Federal Ministry for Buildings and Technology . Zingler represented the SPÖ from February 10, 1958 to January 22, 1979 in the National Council.
