Wolfgang Lutz (psychologist)

Wolfgang Lutz (born January 13, 1966 in Mainz ) is a German psychologist , psychotherapist and university professor .

Life

After graduating in 1993, he worked as a research assistant at the Research Center for Psychotherapy in Stuttgart and at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , where he received his doctorate in 1997. From 1997 to 1999 he worked at the Department of Psychology at Northwestern University (USA) in the research group led by Kenneth I. Howard . In 2000 Lutz received the Early Career Contribution Award from the International Society for Psychotherapy Research . From 1999 to 2004 he worked in the department of Klaus Grawe at the Psychological Institute of the University of Bern , habilitated in 2001 and from 2004 to 2007 he was a professor of the Swiss National Fund for Clinical Psychology / Psychotherapy at the University of Bern. Lutz has been head of the department for clinical psychology and psychotherapy, the outpatient clinic for training, teaching and research (PALF) and the head of the advanced training course for psychological psychotherapy at the University of Trier since 2007 . He is also editor of the journal Psychotherapy Research and a member of the editorial board of the journals Clinical Psychological Science , Cognitive Therapy and Research , Journal of Psychotherapy Integration and Psychotherapy Psychosomatics Medical Psychology . He was Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy from 2007 to 2013 and Consulting Editor of the Journal of Clinical Psychology from 2001 to 2011 .

The focus of work and research is on psychotherapy results and process research with the topics of evaluation and quality assurance, continuous and discontinuous therapy processes, psychotherapeutic micro-strategies, and the diagnosis and treatment of depressive disorders and couple problems. Among other things, he was involved in the pilot project of the Techniker Krankenkasse , initiated in 2003 and completed in 2011, for quality monitoring in outpatient psychotherapy .
