Franz de Schmid

Franz Xavier Baron de Schmid , French: François Xavier de Schmid, (born September 24, 1858 in Saaralben , † after 1907) was a landowner, factory owner and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Franz de Schmid studied mathematics and natural sciences in Paris from 1877 to 1880 after receiving his previous education . From 1883 he was an estate and factory owner in Saaralben. Until 1883 he served in the French cavalry. In the 1890s he was the director and main shareholder of the salt works and the Salzbronn salt works in Saaralben (Lorraine). On 18 May 1901 he was awarded the Order of the Crown II. Class, and on 21 May 1902, it was character as captain awarded.

From 1898 to 1907 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Reichsland Alsace-Lorraine 12 ( Saargemünd , Forbach ). Politically, de Schmid belonged to the right wing of political Catholicism and joined the parliamentary group of German conservatives as an intern in the Reichstag .
