Franz von Königsmarck

Franz von Königsmarck (* around 1503; † December 24, 1585 ) was a German scholaster at the cathedral monastery of St. Mauritius in Magdeburg .

He came from the Altmark noble family von Königsmarck and was the son of Andreas von Königsmarck, who resigned in favor of his son in 1545 from the Magdeburg Major Prabender and Scholaststelle. At that time, Franz had already had an eventful life because he had taken part in the campaigns to Lombardy , Hungary and the Peasants' War . After that he was captain in Sommerschenburg for six years and in Zinna for eleven years . Between 1545 and 1547 he stayed at the universities of Wittenberg and Leipzig before he was officially accepted into the cathedral chapter in Magdeburg. In 1569 he was senior of the cathedral chapter for ten days. After his death he was buried in Magdeburg Cathedral .

In 1562 he married Lucia von Hacke. The son of the same name, Franz, who acquired the Goseck rule in 1594, emerged from the marriage .
