Franz von Paula Dionys Joseph Kiennast , Latinized Franciscus de Paula Dionysius Josephus Kiennast , (* 1728 , † 1793 ) was a Bavarian teacher and promoter of amateur theater .

From the middle of the 18th century he worked as a dean and schoolmaster in Dachau . There he took over the management of the Dachau Dilettantenbühne in 1759 . With her he cultivated the bourgeois drama and passion play held in the Bavarian language .

Several folk pieces written in dialect come from him .
