French blows
During the occupation period after the Second World War , the term French blows was a colloquial term for the deforestation in the French occupation zone .
The areas occupied by France were predominantly structurally weak, rural areas. As a result, his reparation claims were partially paid for by Black Forest wood , in addition to coal income in Saarland . Wood was in great demand on the world market at the time ; logging in Baden and Württemberg-Hohenzollern therefore increased by up to 350%.
