Location of Vielist in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania |
Vielist is a district of the municipality Grabowhöfe in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).
geography
Vielist in the Mecklenburg Lake District is northwest of Waren (Müritz) .
The hilly (up to 107 m above sea level. NN), covering the east with forest terminal moraine has in the North a share of the Mecklenburg Switzerland and Lake Kummerow Nature Park .
history
In 1264, Vielist appears for the first time in a document. The village's stone church dates back to the beginning of the 13th century; it was structurally changed around 1566 and received its half-timbered tower top around 1700.
In the village there is still the manor house of the former Vielist estate, which was built from 1789 as a timber-framed house on old foundations and cellars. A previous manor house was built in the same place on two cellars, probably from the 14th century and the 16th century. For the construction of today's manor house, parts of the former moat were filled in in the 18th century and used to build another vaulted cellar. A concept to refurbish this historic building in cooperation with the monument protection by 2006 failed. Subsequent owners, however, made it possible to gradually renovate the manor house, which is now inhabited again.
With effect from January 1, 2013, Vielist was incorporated into Grabowhöfe.
By building their own homes, Vielist has developed into an attractive place with a low average age in recent years.

coat of arms
Blazon : ". Under blue shield head where a herfliegendes silver glider in gold a red gear topped with a golden spike"
The coat of arms and the flag were designed by the Schwerin heraldist Heinz Kippnick . It was approved together with the flag on March 30, 2007 by the Ministry of the Interior and registered under the number 310 of the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. |
|
Reasons for the coat of arms: In the coat of arms, the glider stands for the Waren / Vielist airfield built in 1966/67 and the sports aviation that has been operating there since then, as well as for the sightseeing flights that have taken place there. The cog wheel refers to the recent settlement of commercial companies, such as a steel construction company and companies in civil engineering and road construction. The ear of wheat refers to the traditional main occupation of the inhabitants, agriculture. |
flag
The flag is evenly striped lengthways in yellow and blue. In the middle of the flag is the municipal coat of arms, two thirds of the height of the yellow and blue stripes. The relation of the height of the flag cloth to the length is like 3: 5.
Culture
The local volunteer fire brigade , founded in 1948, plays a major role in the local community . Every year citizens, associations and the municipal council in Vielist organize a village festival. The carnival club CCV Vielist ensures a colorful hustle and bustle in the village every year. The central festival meadow in the village and the club house are used for events.
Economy and Infrastructure
In addition to agriculture, some commercial companies shape the image of the place. A number of small and medium-sized service companies have set up shop. In the center of the village there is a meeting place for children and young people as well as the club house with boarding house.
Transport links
The federal highway 108 leads through the local area from Waren (Müritz) to Teterow . A regular bus service is available all year round in addition to school transport. The nearest train station is in nearby Waren (Müritz) (rail connections to Berlin , Rostock and Parchim ).
To the northeast of Vielist is the Waren / Vielist airfield . Vielist can be reached on a cycle path along the B 108 from the direction of Waren (Müritz).
