Freaky Fukin Weirdoz is a crossover band from Munich , with influences from Nu - and Funk Metal . They were the first music group from Germany to be assigned to the crossover style.

history

The band was founded in 1988. They played a. a. in the opening act for bands like Faith No More , Bad Brains and White Zombie . On the album Mao Mak Maa there was a duet with Nina Hagen on the cover version of the Ian Dury classic Hit Me (With Your Rhythm Stick) . In 2001 the band effectively broke up after 13 years, but gave a concert for the fans every year from 2002 to 2006.

The band members are still musically active. Marco Minnemann is still active as a drummer internationally, Ben Esen has a current project with gruba , Commander Zdanko and Gringo appear as DJs in the Weirdelic Sound System , and guitarist RifKif does studio productions ( Rawaudiofront ) and gigs with other bands (e.g. LOSLOS ).

In 2009 the Freaky Fuking Weirdoz were back in the studio together. Her seventh album Oh My God was released on October 16, 2009 .
