Fred-Günter Schroeder (born December 30, 1930 in Dortmund ; † August 1, 2019 ) was a German botanist.

Live and act

He was a professor at the University of Göttingen , where he held the chair for plant systematics. His specialty were the trees. He edited the work of Jost Fitschen "Gehölzflora" "from the 8th edition in 1987.

He was a member of the extended board of the German Dendrological Society (DDG) . His botanical author abbreviation is " FGSchroed. "
