Fred Fox

Frederick Strachan "Fred" Fox (born January 22, 1884 in London , † December 1, 1949 in Los Angeles , California ) was a British film actor and assistant director who received the Oscar for best assistant director at the 1934 Academy Awards .

Life

Fox began in 1928 as an assistant director on the film The Midnight Taxi and then worked in 13 other film productions in this role. In 1934 he was one of the seven winners of the Oscars in the category of best assistant director.

Between 1943 and his death in 1949 he also worked as a film actor and played supporting roles in 13 less well-known films such as A Lady with a Past (1945), Buffalo Bill Intervenes (1947), Amber, the great courtesan (1947), Until the Last Hour (1948) and Under the Spell of the Red Witch (1948).
