Fred Sauer
Fred Sauer (born July 14, 1886 in Graz , † September 17, 1952 in Berlin ) was an Austrian actor , director and screenwriter .
Life
Fred Sauer began his career as an actor on touring stages in Austria. His debut in Germany was the piece “Jugend” (1909). His first work in film took place as a screenwriter and sensational actor in films by Joseph Delmont : Dichterlos (1912), Auf Einsamer Insel (1913), The Diary of a Dead (1913) and The Right to Be (1913). Until 1920 he appeared several times as an actor.
In 1915 he directed the film The Stocking for the first time, and in the following years he made a name for himself in this field, especially with silent film productions. By 1937 he directed around 40 films. His films also included the first appearance of the Danish cult duo Pat and Patachon in Girl Robbers (1936) and Stowaways (1936).
