Fred von Lohmann

Fred von Lohmann is an American lawyer who currently works for the internet service provider Google as legal advisor on copyright issues. Before joining Google in July 2010, von Lohmann worked as a lawyer for the Electronic Frontier Foundation , where he specialized in intellectual property issues. During this time he represented programmers in a large number of copyright and trademark litigation .

Before joining EFF, he was a visiting researcher at the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology and a member of the international law firm of Morrison & Foerster LLP. In the US, he is quoted in the media more often and has appeared on CNN and CNBC . Von Lohmann completed his training at Stanford University and at the associated law school . He has already received the California Lawyer of the Year Award and the L. Ray Patterson Copyright Award for his achievements, and in 2010 was considered one of the 25 most influential personalities in the IT sector according to The American Lawyer magazine .
