Frederic Brenton Fitch

Frederic Brenton Fitch (born September 9, 1908 in Greenwich , Connecticut , † September 18, 1987 ) was an American logician and the developer of the Fitch calculus . In his essay "A Logical Analysis of Some Value Concepts" published in 1963 he proves "Theorem 5" (originally by Alonzo Church ), which later became famous in the context of the paradox of possible knowledge . Fitch was a professor at Yale University . In 1979 he was accepted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .
