Fredericksburg Masonic Cemetery
The Fredericksburg Masonic Cemetery is a historic cemetery of the Masonic -Loge Masonic Lodge No. 4 AF & AM , in Fredericksburg , in the US state of Virginia .
history
The cemetery is one of the oldest Masonic cemeteries in the United States and dates back to 1784 when approximately 60 acres of land was purchased by the lodge to bury its members and their families. It is still operated and maintained today with the help of the neighboring James Monroe Museum and Memorial Library .

Personalities
Over the years some personalities and contemporary witnesses of the Freemasons have been buried here:
- Christiana Campbell (1727–1792), American operator of the historic Christiana Campbell Tavern in Williamsburg, which George Washington frequented (grave number 2)
- Benjamin Day (1752–1821), an officer major in the Civil War (grave number 4)
- Bazil Gordon (1768–1847), Scottish immigrant and millionaire (grave number 148)
- John Julian (1749–1785), surgeon and veteran of the Continental Army
- Robert Lewis (1769–1829), assistant to Fielding Lewis and Betty Washington Lewis , private secretary to his uncle, George Washington , (grave number 77)
- Lewis Littlepage (1762–1802), assistant to John Jay and later confidant of Stanislaus II August Poniatowski , (grave number 183)
- John Minor (1761–1816), general in the 1812 War
- Gustavus Brown Wallace (1751-1802), Confederate Colonel in the Civil War (honored as Brigadier General during the war), then owner of the Rising Sun Tavern , now a historic house on the National Register of Historic Places
- George Weedon (1734–1793), Civil War general (grave number 184)
