Erik Hartsuiker

Frederik "Erik" Klaas Jan Hartsuiker (born October 19, 1940 in Avereest , today part of Hardenberg ) is a former Dutch rower .

The 1.89 m tall Erik Hartsuiker from the Triton rowing club in Utrecht formed a two-man with a helmsman together with Herman Rouwé and helmsman Jan Justus Bos in 1964 . At the Olympic Games in 1964 , the three Dutchmen crossed the finish line in second behind the Americans. The Dutch qualified for the finals with a victory in the third hope run . In the final, the Americans won ahead of the French, the Dutch rowed the bronze medal.

At the 1968 Olympic Games , Rouwé and Hartsuiker sat in the Dutch four-man with helmsman . After finishing second in the first heat, the Dutch were the last to cross the finish line in the semi-finals. With a third place in the B-final, the Dutch came ninth in the overall standings.
