Letzigraben outdoor pool
The Letzigraben outdoor pool is a summer pool in the city of Zurich and is also called Max-Frisch-Bad . The outdoor pool is located in the Albisrieden district of Zurich . It was built from 1947 to 1949 by the Swiss writer and architect Max Frisch in the Landi style and equipped with a garden by the garden architect Gustav Ammann . The bathroom is the only major building that Frisch realized after winning first prize in the 1943 city of Zurich architecture competition. The facility is now a listed building and was completely renovated between 2006 and 2007.
It includes, among other things, a Landi-style restaurant pavilion and an elegant ten-meter diving platform , which Max Frisch also showed Bertolt Brecht when he came to visit during the construction phase. An exhibition room designed by the Max Frisch Archive informs visitors about the life and work of the writer.
