The Free Evangelical Confession School Bremen (FEBB) is an evangelically shaped, state-recognized confession school in Bremen .

history

On July 4th, 1977 parents founded the “Christian Parents Initiative” with the aim of starting their own school. This school was supposed to convey the Christian values that the parents' initiative represented. After almost two years of negotiations with various educational politicians in Bremen about the approval of a private school, regular classes began on February 1, 1979 with 15 third-grade students in rented rooms. With the support of the parents, the first school building in habenhausen was built in 1981/82 together with other helpers from several Bremen communities . Around 40,000 hours of work were done by volunteers. In addition, the project was made possible by donations totaling 1.3 million DM.

carrier

The school is run by the Free Evangelical Confession School Bremen eV . The sponsoring association elects the members of the nine-person board from among its members, who run the school together with the school management. The first chairman is Volker Greulich. As an initiative, the school is a member of the Bremen Evangelical Alliance , but not an institution of the Bremen Evangelical Church .
