Diesdorf open-air museum
The Freilichtmuseum Diesdorf is an open-air museum in Diesdorf in the western Altmark near Salzwedel .
meaning
It is one of the oldest folklore open-air museums in Germany and was founded in 1911 by the country doctor Georg Schulze from Diesdorf. In addition to the museum, Schulze set up an outdoor pool at about the same time . More than 20 residential and farm buildings as well as historically laid out cottage gardens are presented on an area of around six hectares. For example, Low German hall houses, granaries , gatehouses, a forge , a village school and a post mill can be visited . In 1954 the museum was incorporated into the Johann Friedrich Danneil Museum in Salzwedel , and in 1989 it became independent again.
