Location of Frenshof in Bavaria

Frenshof is a village in the Steigerwald . It is a district of the municipality of Schönbrunn in the Steigerwald (Bamberg district) with 155 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2019).

Population development

Around 1800 Frenshof was just a single farm. Frenshof had 104 inhabitants in 1831 and 94 in 1833, of which 14 were Mennonites . In 1840 there were 108 and in 1912 116 inhabitants were counted.

Architectural monuments

The town's Catholic chapel with a bell rider was built in 1894. With a mansard roof built in 1743, which today houses an inn, Frenshof has a second architectural monument. The building was originally used as an office building.

Club life

The volunteer fire brigade provides fire protection and general help. This is operated together with members from the Grub district and was founded in 1891. The social association VdK Germany has a local association in Frenshof and there is a fruit and horticultural association Grub / Frenshof.
