Friedemann Weckbach-Mara (born May 29, 1947 in Illingen ) is a German journalist , author and political advisor .

Career

Friedemann Weckbach-Mara completed his traineeship at the Heinz Möller Verlag in Bonn in 1968 and became a correspondent for Bild und Bild am Sonntag in 1976 as a member of the Federal Press Conference in Bonn . From 1983 he worked as head of duty at the news agency ddp , from March 1984 he was promoted to editor-in-chief of the newly founded ddp-TV and also chairman of the supervisory board of ddp AG. On April 1, 1985, Weckbach-Mara took over the management of the parliamentary editorial office of the Kölner Express, for which he published the SDI contracts the following year. In 1989, as chief correspondent, he became head of the parliamentary editorial office of Bild am Sonntag in Bonn and, from September 1, in the Berlin capital city editorial office. In 2001 Weckbach-Mara moved to Welt am Sonntag as chief correspondent and in 2003 took over the management of the parliamentary editorial office. On February 1, 2005 he became the chief political correspondent of the Berliner Zeitung , the BZ and the BZ am Sonntag. Friedemann Weckbach-Mara has been a freelance author and political advisor since July 1, 2011 . Friedemann Weckbach-Mara has been an active member of the FDP ( Free Democratic Party ) since 1974 and has been an honorary judge at the Cologne Administrative Court since April 2015.
