Siegburg is the seat of the Siegburg District Court , which is responsible for the cities of Hennef , Lohmar , Niederkassel , Sankt Augustin , Siegburg and Troisdorf as well as for the communities of Eitorf , Much , Neunkirchen-Seelscheid and Ruppichteroth in the right bank of the Rhine-Sieg district . Around 350,000 people live in the 588 km² judicial district . In addition, the District Court of Siegburg is responsible for agricultural matters in the District Court districts of Bonn, Königswinter, Rheinbach and Siegburg.

The regional court above the Siegburg District Court is the Bonn Regional Court , which in turn is subordinate to the Cologne Higher Regional Court .

history

With the reorganization of the courts in the Grand Duchy of Berg , the Siegburg Peace Court was established as the court of first instance at the end of 1811. It was subordinate to the tribunal of first instance Mülheim am Rhein . Prussia took over the Bergisch courts in 1814. The previous peace courts remained, the first instance tribunals were renamed district courts . The Siegburg Peace Court was now assigned to the Mülheim am Rhein district court . In 1820 the organization of the courts was changed. The district courts have now become regional courts. The Siegburg Peace Court was subordinated to the Cologne Regional Court and, from 1850, the Bonn Regional Court . As part of the Reich Justice Laws , it was converted into the Siegburg District Court in 1879.
