The Friedenskirche on Schackstrasse was built in 1927 as a hall church. In the corner of the church service hall, there are community rooms and service apartments for the pastor and the sexton . The church was badly damaged in one of the air raids on Hanover during World War II and was consecrated again in April 1949 after it was rebuilt. On the facade is a depiction of Saint George donated in 1938 . In 1949, in memory of their son who died in the war, a family donated the angel of annunciation “Peace to men on earth”, which is in the window above the altar .
