Friederike Scharfegger

Friederike "Fritzi" Scharfegger - birth name Lauber - (* 1934 or 1935 in Mürzzuschlag ; † December 6, 1996 ) was an Austrian table tennis player . She took part in five world championships.

Career

Friederike Scharfegger was nominated five times for a world championship between 1953 and 1965, before her marriage in 1957 under her maiden name Lauber . In 1953 , 1954 and 1955 she won bronze with the Austrian women's team. Friederike Scharfegger played a total of 46 international matches with a positive score of 28:23.

In 1955 she was ranked third in the Austrian ranking. In 1960 she won the Austrian ranking tournament. In the same year she became Austrian champion in individual, a year later she succeeded in defending her title. She won the Styrian championships several times.

Around 1965 she played for the UHK Graz club.

Private

In 1957 Friederike Lauber married a table tennis player and then performed under the name Friederike Scharfegger . In 1958 she became the mother of a son.
