Friedhelm Lenz

Friedhelm Lenz (born May 11, 1945 in Rauschendorf ) is a German politician and former member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament of the SPD .

Life and work

After attending school with the secondary school leaving certificate in 1961, he completed a commercial apprenticeship and was a commercial clerk at Stadtwerke Köln GmbH from 1964 to 1998 .

He joined the SPD in 1963. He was active in numerous committees of the party, among other things, he was district chairman of the SPD Cologne-Porz .

MP

From June 1, 1995 to June 2, 2005 Lenz was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in constituency 014 Cologne II and 020 Cologne VI . In 2004 he lost a ballot for nomination as a direct candidate and Jochen Ott became a candidate for the state parliament (but could not win the mandate directly until 2010).

He was a member of the City Council of Cologne from 1978 to 1994.
