Former school building

From 1924 to September 2011 the vocational college was located at Schinkelplatz (city center), directly on the A 59 . Up until 2006, the top floor housed part of the Duisburg study seminar for teaching at vocational schools or at grammar schools and comprehensive schools (upper secondary schools).

Since the study seminar moved to the Neudorf Technology Center, the rooms have been used by the Landfermann Gymnasium , which is located on the other side of Nahestrasse. The grammar school has announced an urgent need for more classrooms and the use of the cafeteria, since with the introduction of the Abitur after eight school years, an extension of the afternoon lessons and thus the de facto introduction of all-day school operations will be inevitable.

Today's school building

In September 2011 the vocational college moved into a newly built school building - the Center for Vocational Education and Training Duisburg-Mitte in Duisburg-Neudorf (ZBW) - on Carstanjenstrasse. At the beginning of 2005, the school authorities developed the idea of building the Friedrich-Albert-Lange vocational college with the city's advanced training college, also located on Schinkelplatz, and the commercial vocational college on Burgplatz, in a new school building on the open space between Mülheimer Strasse and the Tectrum technology center. For the vocational college, this will be the seventh school location within Duisburg in the 178-year history of the school.
