Friedrich Anderhuber

Friedrich Anderhuber (born February 8, 1950 in Langenwang , Styria , † April 28, 2018 ) was an Austrian anatomist .

Life

Anderhuber began his academic career in 1971 as a research assistant at the Institute for Anatomy at the Karl Franzens University in Graz . In 1976 he received his doctorate in medicine. From then until 1986 he worked as an assistant doctor at the anatomical institute. Anderhuber took the opposite subjects for gynecology and internal medicine as part of the training, but the connection to anatomy remained upright for a lifetime.

Two years later, in 1986, he completed his habilitation in the subject of anatomy on the subject of "The sinus-parenchymal boundary of the human kidney as the origin of intracanalicular and extravascular fluid expansion " . In 1991, Anderhuber was awarded the title of extraordinary university professor, before he was appointed full professor of anatomy at the Institute of Anatomy in 1992. He held this function of the institute director until his death. The Medical University of Graz recognized his services to science with the award of the Auenbrugger Cross of Honor.

Anderhuber has been named "Lecturer of the Year" several times.

Anderhuber also worked as a thanatologist . Under his direction, training courses for obtaining professional qualifications and exercising thanatopraxia were held on behalf of the Undertaker Academy Vienna. Anderhuber also worked as a thanatologist outside of Austria.

In 1997 he received the Great Decoration of Honor of the State of Styria . The Ovidius University of Constanța awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2008.
