Friedrich Anzenberger

Friedrich Anzenberger (born June 8, 1960 in St. Pölten ) is an Austrian music researcher and music teacher .

Life

Anzenberger studied musicology and music education in Vienna; Graduated in 1986 with the state teaching qualification test. In 1990 he received his doctorate with a dissertation on trumpet schools in the 19th century. Anzenberger then worked as a music teacher (including at the University of Education in Krems an der Donau ) and has been the head of the music school since 2004.

He is a member of the Presidium and Scientific Director of the Documentation Center in the Austrian Brass Music Association and was General Secretary of the International Society for Research and Promotion of Brass Music until 2012 . Since 2013 he has also published the online journal for brass music research . In 2015/2016 he was President of the Austrian Brass Music Association , in the years before and after that he was Vice President.

He has written numerous publications on the history of Austrian brass music and Austria-Hungary's military music, and was a speaker at international congresses in Austria , Germany , Italy , Luxembourg , Hungary , the Czech Republic and Slovakia .
