Friedrich Balck

Friedrich Heinrich Balck (* 1947 in Lübeck ) is a German physicist and university professor .

Life

Friedrich Balck was born in Lübeck in 1947. From 1968 to 1972 he studied physics at the Technical University of Clausthal (TU) and received his doctorate in 1978 under Reiner Labusch with the dissertation Investigations of the transformation in the gamma alloys of the systems Cu-Zn, Cu-Cd and Ag-Zn . Balck completed his habilitation in the history of technology in 2000 and was appointed adjunct professor at the Institute for Energy Research and Physical Technologies at Clausthal University of Technology in 2005. Friedrich Balck's main areas of work were measurement and control technology and the history of technology, for example mining in the Harz Mountains (see also Upper Harz Mining ). In addition, Balck researched new methods of archaeological measurement technology. Another area of interest is the Balcks parascientific use of dowsing .

In 2013, Friedrich Balck retired from Clausthal University of Technology.
