Friedrich Becker ( September 25, 1869 in Vienna - after 1913 ) was an Austrian theater actor , singer and comedian .

Life

Forced by his father to devote himself to the merchant class, he remained loyal to it for only two years and then, without a teacher or good role models, gradually made his own way on the stage. He began in 1886 at the Fürsttheater in Vienna, then was engaged in Iglau, Leoben, Teplitz, Salzburg, Bremen, Hermannstadt and then came to Berlin via Vienna, where he has been working successfully for a long time at the Friedrich Wilhelmstädtischer Theater. He was both the first young singer and character comedian (“Balthasar”, “Papagoda”, “Obersteiger”, “Andredl” etc.) and delighted with his amiable humor, which often exudes, his rare verve and his effectively performed couplets. He knew how to give all humorous antics and tricks discreetly and with appreciable skill and was definitely one of the genuine Viennese comedians.
