Friedrich Carl Untucht

Friedrich Carl Untucht (born May 10, 1870 in Magdeburg , † February 2, 1939 in Braunlage ) was a German entrepreneur.

Life

Untucht was born as the son of the businessman Carl Untucht . After a commercially oriented training, he became a partner in the founded by his father in 1876 Spirituosenfabrik and distillery Carl Untucht & Co. Magdeburg. This was located at the address Wasserkunststrasse 98. After a constant expansion of production, the company took over the Dschenfzig'schen molasses alcohol distillery in Magdeburg in 1913 and thus achieved a regional monopoly .

In preparation for the state regulation of the branch expected by Untucht through the Spirits Monopoly Act , he opened up new business areas at an early stage. Starting in 1906, he built a factory for the production of earthenware on a neighboring property he had acquired ( Wasserkunststrasse No. 100) . Untucht later acquired the majority of shares in the Annaburger Steinutfabrik , of which he became director and into which he brought his company in 1919/1920. The company he ran was one of the leading companies in the earthenware industry and had a high export quota.

Untucht was also chairman of the supervisory board of the Bodenstein AG Magdeburg brewery .

The city of Magdeburg had temporarily named a street as Untuchtstraße in his honor.
