Friedrich Englerth (* 1793 ; † 1848 ) was Mayor of Eschweiler from January 24, 1822 to 1831 and the third oldest son of Carl and Christine Englerth .

After the death of Friedrich Englerth's mother on May 4, 1838, the Eschweiler Mining Association EBV , which had already been established in 1834 , was officially founded by the first general assembly on May 19, 1838. With the participation of all children and heirs and chaired by the eldest son Wilhelm, the general assembly elected the first board of directors, of which Englerth was chairman.

In 1838 Englerth bought the ruins of Eschweiler Castle with seven Magdeburg acres surrounding it for 50,000 thalers . Between 1845 and 1847 he had the castle rebuilt on its foundations. The Catholic community bought the castle in 1858 and set up the Eschweiler St. Antonius Hospital in it .

Burgstrasse, running north of the castle, was renamed Englerthstrasse in 1897 in honor of Englerth and his parents .
