Friedrich Ernst Vorberg

Friedrich Ernst Vorberg (* 1733 in Cobbel ; † April 1808 ) was a German theologian, educator and writer.

Life

Around 1748 Friedrich Ernst Vorberg was a student at the pedagogy for the monastery of Our Dear Women in Magdeburg . From 1758 he worked there as a teacher. From 1765 to 1766/67 he was rector of the education department. With two school program treatises on literary issues, he was included in the writer lexicon founded by Georg Christoph Hamberger . In 1766, Vorberg turned against the predominance of Latin and Greek teaching and advocated more teaching in the “divine scriptures” and literature and science. At the request of Provost Gotthilf Christoph Bake , he also worked out new school regulations for pedagogy by April 1766. He was then procurator until 1777 .

In 1771 he succeeded Johann Andreas Lutterodt as pastor at the Protestant Sankt Gertraud Church in Salbke . He held this pastorate until his death in 1808.
