Friedrich Grossart

Friedrich Grossart (born September 21, 1891 in Meddersheim , † June 21, 1959 in Marburg ) was a German librarian.

Life

Grossart studied philosophy, psychology, German and history in Strasbourg, Munich, Berlin and Bonn. From 1914 to 1917 he was a soldier in the First World War. In 1919 he passed the state examination and received his doctorate. In 1920 he began his library career at the Bonn University Library , in 1934 he moved to the Marburg University Library , where he stayed until his retirement in 1956. In Marburg he made it up to the First Library Council, this position corresponded to that of a deputy director.
