Friedrich Gustav Bathitz
Friedrich Gustav Badewitz (born March 1, 1779 in Weißenfeld , † 1847 in Wesselheim ) was a German theater actor and director of a traveling company .
Life
He was a member of the Daberschen Schauspielgesellschaft and at the beginning of the 19th century became the director of a traveling troupe, which first stayed in Wetzlar, then in Offenbach, Cologne and Wiesbaden and also played in Coburg.
A letter of application from him to Johann Wolfgang Goethe has been handed down.
"Semmerda, November 17, 1795: I am an actor who is looking for Brodt, who, through no fault of my own, came so far down the road as to take up engagement with a small company. I traveled through Weimar four weeks ago, thought I would find a place there, alone, Ew: At that time, excellence was not present - and so I made the decision to stay nearby until I heard Dero return. - I am a subject from the Schwerin Society, went from there to Stralsund, 8 weeks ago I was prescribed by Madam Grossmann, but since I arrived 14 days late due to illness I had to put up with my commitment to not gildig explain! - So I was put into the greatest misery, from which only a philanthropic hand can pull me. "
His grandson Carl Baditz also became a stage actor.
