Friedrich I of Wettin
Friedrich I, Count of Eilenburg (* around 960; † January 5, 1017 in Eilenburg ) was a son of Count Dietrich I and the brother of Dedo I of Wettin . His date of birth is unknown.
Together with his brother Dedo, he administered the Burgward Zörbig , which had been given to them before 1009. In the seventies of the 10th century (973/78) Friedrich was possibly Vogt of Magdeburg Cathedral . Emperor Heinrich II entrusted him temporarily with the supervision of the castle in Meißen in 1009 and 1015 . In 1012 Friedrich stayed in the vicinity of the Magdeburg Archbishop Waltard .
In addition to his own property, the " civitas " Eilenburg , in the west of the then Mark Lausitz , as well as count rights in the Gau Quezizi near Eilenburg, counted to his rule . When Friedrich died in January 1017, he left the entire allodial property to his three daughters and transferred Eilenburg to his nephew Dietrich I , as he had no male descendants himself.
