Friedrich Johann Jakob Bartruff

Friedrich Johann Jakob Bartruff (born September 24, 1754 in Wüstenrot , † September 15, 1833 in Ludwigsburg ) was a German military cartographer and officer who served in Württemberg .

He was a member of the Corps des Guides , which carried out cartographic work in the military and civilian sectors, among other things.

Friedrich Johann Jakob Bartruff contributed to the first precise, large-scale mapping of the Neckar . Under his direction, the river from Oberndorf to Münster was mapped on a scale of 1: 432 in 1795 ff . The work is said to have comprised 622 maps, all of which are lost.
