Friedrich Karrer

Friedrich Karrer (born November 27, 1919 in Vienna ; † August 16, 1996 there ) was an Austrian politician of the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ).

education and profession

After attending primary and secondary school , he attended vocational school and learned the trade of a baker . In 1945 he became a specialist at the central organization of the war victims' associations in Austria. In 1947 he was the senior secretary of the Vienna War Victims Association. In 1956 he became President of the War Victims Association for Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland and from 1959 President of the Central Organization of War Victims Associations in Austria.

The Friedrich Karrerhaus in Freiland , a recreation center for war victims and the disabled , was named after him .

  • November 17, 1961 to October 4, 1963: Member of the Federal Council ( IX and X legislative periods), SPÖ
