Friedrich Kerst

Friedrich Kerst (born February 8, 1870 in Elberfeld (now part of Wuppertal ), † April 19, 1961 in Wuppertal-Hahnerberg ) was a German writer, local researcher, teacher and art consultant.

Life

His memories of Beethoven , which were published several times and translated into English, became particularly well known . In addition, he mainly published works on local history and books on other composers.

He founded the Literary Society , in whose Bergische Almanach 1906 poems by Else Lasker-Schüler were published, including one of her most famous poems, "Weltende".
