Friedrich Langthaler

Friedrich Langthaler (born July 6, 1893 in Schwarzenberg am Böhmerwald , Upper Austria ; † February 16, 1949 in Linz , Upper Austria) was an Austrian politician ( CSP , later ÖVP ).

Life

Friedrich Langthaler, a unionist from an early age , was a postal worker by profession and from 1919 to 1938 chairman of the Christian Postal Union with its official seat in Linz. In 1945 he was elected chairman of the post section of the union of workers, employees and civil servants for the Upper Austria regional group.

In 1912 he joined the CSP, and after the Second World War , 1945, the newly founded ÖVP.

In December 1945 Langthaler was sworn in as a member of the Federal Council in Vienna . He held this position until his death in February 1949.
