Friedrich Lottspeich

Friedrich Lottspeich (born December 23, 1947 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian biochemist .

Friedrich Lottspeich studied chemistry at the University of Vienna. The doctorate followed in 1978 at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry in Martinsried and the habilitation in 1990 at the universities of Munich and Innsbruck. From 1990 Lottspeich was "Research Group Leader" in the Protein Analysis Group at the MPI for Biochemistry.

He is the editor of several academic books and the author of over 600 specialist publications. Lottspeich is best known for the standard work Bioanalytik published by him and Joachim W. Engels on analytical methods in the field of protein biochemistry and proteomics .
