Friedrich Ludwig Alexander Gensichen

Friedrich Ludwig Alexander Gensichen ( February 17, 1806 in Warsaw - November 7, 1840 in Berlin ) was a German theater actor , comedian and singer .

Life

Gensichen was the son of a government councilor and came to Berlin when he was four. After the death of his parents, he fulfilled his wish to become an actor and went to the Königsstadt Theater as an apprentice. In 1826 he was permanently engaged there. On October 3, 1840, he gave his last performance as a “gravedigger” in Leonore and died shortly afterwards.

Gensichen also wrote witty casual poems and sang homemade couplets .
